Re-issue of the 1671 edition, probably by Hendrik de Leth the elder (1703-1766) who worked for the Visscher family and eventually took over their business. His imprint has been added on the etched title page after the original Visscher one.
The etched title-page is signed with cypher 'GL' (i.e. Gérard de Lairesse) and acts as a collective title-page for the two parts which make up this work. The second part has etched half-title: 'Signorum veterum icones'.
The first part contains reproductions of works mainly from the Italian Renaissance, the second part contains reproductions of classical Graeco-Roman sculptures.
