Two dated books were printed there in 1474 by Leonardus Achates, of Basel, who printed in Padua in 1472-73; and four dated books were printed there in 1475 by Johannes de Reno, who also printed in Padua in 1473. Three different texts or text assemblages appear in the incunable literature as "Mirabilia Romae", all aimed at the pilgrim market. The present text, a brief description of Rome, begins "Murus civitatis habet trecentas sexaginta et unam turres"; it was first printed by Adam Rot, Rome, ca. 1472 (H 11175, BMC iv. 44)" (Sotheby's catalogue).
